Pan-Fried Flounder

Flounder was on sale at my local grocery store, so I decided to pick some up. I would have to say that flounder is a close second to my favorite fish, haddock. This is a simple, healthy and delicious meal and it only takes 15 minutes at the most start to finish! Make sure to only turn the flounder once while cooking as it can fall apart easily in the pan and keep it moving constantly as it can and stick easily when pan frying it.

Ingredients:

  • Flounder fillets
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Freshly-squeezed lemon juice, to taste
  • Sea salt, to taste
  • Fresh cracked pepper, to taste
  • Paprika, to taste
  • 1/4 c flour for dredging
Directions:

  • Wash fillets in cold water and pat dry.
  • Season both sides with salt, pepper and paprika.
  • Dredge fillets in flour.
  • Heat olive oil and butter over medium-high heat in a skillet.
  • Cook fish for approximately 3 minutes per side, until brown and crispy.
  • Remove fish to serving platter. Lightly sprinkle with lemon juice, if desired.
