Ingredients:
- 3 tbsp butter, divided
- 1 slice wheat bread
- 1 large egg
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- Cut out a circle (or whatever shape of cookie cutter you have) from the wheat bread. Set the cut out piece aside. This will be used for dipping into the egg yolk.
- Heat 1 tbsp of the butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Place the piece of bread in the skillet and cook for 1 minute.
- Carefully crack the egg into the hole. Season with salt and pepper and cook for 2 minutes longer.
- Slide a spatula under the toast and egg and add the remaining butter to the skillet. Once the butter is melted, flip the toast and egg over on the other side and cook for 1 more minute.
- Serve with the cut out piece of bread.
- Enjoy!
