Homemade Baked French Fries

Homemade baked french fries are perfect for your super bowl festivities.  They are soft on the inside and crisp on the outside.

Ingredients:

  • 3 lb russet potatoes, cut 1/4 inch-thick
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Sea salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
Directions:

Soak the potatoes in cold water for at least an hour.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Dry the potatoes off and place them in a large bowl. Toss with olive oil, salt, pepper and garlic powder. I like adding some Parmesan or a combination of onion powder, chili powder and paprika; about 1 tsp each.

Place the potatoes on a greased baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove them from the oven and turn the heat up to 425 degrees. Turn each fry over and place them back in the oven for another 10 minutes. Turn the fries over one last time and bake for another 3 to 4 minutes, until golden brown.

Enjoy!

  1. We love making baked French fries at our house. Parmesan and garlic or chile peppers & feta are our favorite combinations. Great game day idea!
