A little about me: I married my best friend on Valentines Day. We have a 19-year-old daughter, Madelyn, whom I homeschooled and is about to obtain her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. We also have a 5-year-old son, Lucas, who just started kindergarten. I am a full-time Preschool Director as well as the Director of Children's Ministries at my church.
A little about my cooking: When I was first married at 23 years old, I literally did not know how to take a can of vegetables and heat them up in a microwave or on the stove. Pretty sad, right?! I'll never forget the first time I heard, "What's for dinner?" when we were first married. The question was innocent enough, but it sent me into quite the panic.
I've had my share of cooking successes and a few pretty hilarious failures along the way, but once I got the hang of things in the kitchen, cooking turned into an obsession. We live a busy life, but we make it a priority to sit down together as a family for dinner every night.
Besides cooking, some of my favorite things are laughing with my husband (he's pretty hilarious), getting to be the mama of the best kids in the world, homeschooling (loved it so much while it lasted), taking way too many photos, harmonizing to literally every song I hear (sorry not sorry), playing piano, songwriting, getting dirty in my garden, canning the "fruits" of my labor of said garden, cleaning and organizing, decorating our humble abode, DIYing, teaching Sunday School, and sleeping in on Saturdays (that counts as a hobby, right?). Update: So sleeping in just doesn't happen anymore. *sob*
Thanks so much for stopping by!

FAQ
Q: What kind of camera do you use?
A: For my most recent blog posts 2024 and beyond, I have used my Samsung S22 phone. I have used a Nikon Coolpix P7700. No, I haven't spent thousands of dollars on a camera... yet.
Q: Have you ever taken any cooking classes?
A: In the beginning of 2011, my mother surprised me with a one-day cooking class with Chef Pagliaro. That has been my one-and-only class. I am as self-taught as you can get when it comes to my cooking (Food.com and Google were my best friends in the beginning). Because I'm not a professionally trained cook, my recipes may or may not be technically or authentically "correct"... but I certainly try my best!
Q: Have you ever taken any photography courses?
A: I wish! If you go back to some of my older recipes, you'll see that the quality of the photos is very poor. Even now, I still have a lot of room for improvement. A lot. I've actually been tempted a few times to delete my older posts because of the poor photo quality; however, I think it's important to be reminded of where I got started and how far I've come.

Q: May I use your recipes and/or photos on my own blog/website?
A: I would be honored for you to use my recipes and photos; however, I do ask that you please give Cooking Creation the credit as well as include a link back to my blog.

I just found your site through Kodiak Quadruplets and love it. She posted for the bagels which I will be trying as soon as it stops raining, and I can get to the store.
